Workshop: Model Making in the classroom with Aardman

Wednesday 30th March 2022 Online. Fresh Film is delighted to work with the legendary Aardman animation! This workshop is for primary school groups. The workshop is a fun, hands-on session where participants can get creative with clay and discover how to make their own model of one of our world famous characters, which they then get to take home with them! The workshops are facilitated by expert model makers from the Aardman studio (who have worked on titles like Wallace & Gromit, Chicken Run, Shaun the Sheep, Morph, Creature Comforts etc.). They are real pros, have loads of great anecdotes about the studio, and generally put on a really entertaining and engaging session! It’s also a great opportunity for participants to ask any questions they might have about the company and our production processes. Workshop: Choose Your Destiny - Interactive filmmaking for classroom

Choose Your Destiny is an exciting workshop on how to develop and design interactive film Online Free BOOKED OUT This digital workshop focuses on the many fascinating aspects of an “interactive film” where the viewer´s choices affect the outcome of the story itself, now made popular again on streaming sites such as Netflix and other gaming platforms. The workshop will be led by Ismet Bachtiar, who has mentored a series of experimental projects under the Nordic Youth Film Festival (NUFF) in collaboration with young filmmakers and interactive developers. The filmmakers will give a brief overview on this sub-genre and showcase one of their most successful projects “NUFF Club”, an interactive film project developed in under a week, where Ismet will talk about the process and tools used in the development. ISMET BACHTIAR Bachtiar is a creative director, curator and project manager at Tvibit where he runs the Creative Technology program across North Norway. Ismet and his team have been actively involved in a wide variety of projects, from e-sports, gaming events and technology festivals to prototype development, game jams and makerspaces, with a clear focus on talent development and outreach in the region. Careers in Screen is an informative and interactive audience led event for Transition Year-6th year students, which aims to highlight the wide variety of career paths available in film and television. The event will explore the nature of filmmaking as a career and the different skill sets involved, and take a deeper look at the screen industry in Ireland. Experienced speakers will discuss their own experiences working in the screen sector and give an insight into the collaborative process of film production. The event will also look at screen developments in the region and how best to get involved. Speakers include MIKE BOLAND Studio Manager Troy Studios Troy Studios is Ireland’s newest & largest studio facility located in Limerick, Recent productions include ‘Nightflyers’ and Apple TV ‘Foundation’ Ireland’s Largest Ever Production, Employing 500+ People MARK MAHER is CEO, Founder and Creative Director at Odyssey Studios. He has brought 17 years of international experience in the industry as a Concept, Lead or Head Model Maker to Odyssey Studios which he started to bring world class model making to the world. His credits include The Hobbit (The Battle of the Five Armies, The Desolation of Smaug and An Unexpected Journey), Alice Through the Looking Glass, Penny Dreadful and Into the Badlands to name a few. He can be seen building miniature cities, spaceships, Apes, Aliens, Zombies, Dinosaurs and more. EIMEAR O'MAHONY-Executive Producer Children's & Young People's Content RTÉ has been in RTÉ for 20 years. Over that time she has worked in Sport, Current Affairs, Irish Language and Entertainment. She has produced documentaries, Winning Streak, Up for The Match, Electric Picnic and the Late Late Toy Show in 2018. She joined Young People's Programmes in 2019 as an Executive Producer. SIMON MCGUIRE is a Professional Editor and Camera Operator with extensive Digital and Broadcast experience in television post-production. Simon’s broadcast editing experience has been on a number of Irish broadcast programmes over the past two decades, including Pat Shortt’s ‘Killinaskully’, and ‘Mattie’ comedies as well as RTÉ’s ‘Nationwide’ and TV3’s (Virgin Media Television) Ireland AM, News, Sports and current affairs programming.Simon has also worked on feature documentaries and short films. Simon is also a lecturer in the craft of editing with Limerick School of Art and Design, Technological University of the Shannon and is developing his own post-production house ‘Craft’ in Limerick.
