Event | Engine Collaboration Centre | 10:00 - 4:00 Join us for the Martini Shot of Fresh International Film Festival 2024 for our Ireland’s Young Filmmaker’s Forum, by and for Ireland’s next generation of filmmakers. Enjoy a day dedicated to filmmaking and filmmakers with networking, workshops, masterclasses with industry experts culminating in a pitching competition 10:00 - 10:30 Meet & Network 10:30 - 12:00 Producing Grainne Carroll is a producer and runs Front Room Films and recently won best short at DIFF 2024. She has worked professionally on projects such as Foundation, That They May Face the Rising Sun and Treadstone. 1:00 - 2:30 Production Design Cheryl Jane Rock is an actor and stand-by art director who has worked on a variety of high- end projects from The Turning to Frank of Ireland, Game of Thrones. Will Simpson is a graphic novel artist known for his work on Batman, Hellblazer and Judge Dredd, as well as a storyboard artist and concept designer for film and television including Game of Thrones, Reign of Fire and Breakfast on Pluto. 3:30 - 4:00 The Fresh Pitch The annual pitching competition will be determined by a panel of judges. Show your best, wildest ideas, anything from a short film, feature movie or television series. It’s a fun way to share ideas and generate creativity, get helpful, productive feedback and propel you into the next year of filmmaking full of Fresh imagination. Event | Engine Collaboration Centre | 10:00 - 4:00 The National Youth Film and Animation Network was set up in 2020 as a national resource, providing critical engagement, artform development, workshops and resources for young artists and youth arts practitioners who operate across Ireland in a diverse network of clubs, artists and young people. It is currently convened to Support resource development and capacity building for the practice of youth film and animation in Ireland Build capacity in collaboration with young filmmakers and youth film facilitators from all over Ireland Share advice, support, and best practice in filmmaking & animation. This gathering facilitated by Denise McDonagh from Culture Works brings youth film organisations, independent youth film practitioners and film groups for young people together to discuss and focus their vision for an intersecting, vibrant sector that shapes the future of filmmaking with young people across Ireland.
