Elements of Fresh – Fresh Events

Hosting and sharing film practice in Ireland

Fresh Film hosts and takes part in events around Ireland to enhance film opportunities with and for children and young people. Every year Fresh hosts a showcase in association with the IFI where the best films made by second level students are screened with a young director’s Q&A. Over the years Fresh has showcased young filmmakers work as part of festivals including the Cork Film Festival, the Junction Film Festival, Galway Junior Film Fleadh, St. Patrick’s Festival and Festival TV. In addition to festivals, Fresh presents young people’s film and filmmaking at conferences for education, media, cultural and youth sectors.

Cruinniú na nÓg, a national day of youth creativity, is hosted by Creative Ireland and the Local Authority Arts Offices and Fresh currently delivers Limerick city and county’s programme of events. It has also contributed to the national programme. Peer produced content is an important element of Fresh’s approach.
